A Chinese famille rose porcelain covered box modelled as a peach, enamelled in soft shades of pink, green and cream. The cover is decorated with moulded branches and leaves, while both the interior and underside are finished with a turquoise glaze. The naturalistic modelling of the fruit, combined with the vibrant enamel decoration, reflects the Qing dynasty taste for auspicious and nature-inspired forms. This example dates to the 19th century and retains its original fitted cover.
